APSTAR V

APSTAR V is a high power satellite supplied by Space Systems/Loral with the latest advanced technology with 38 C-band and 16 Ku-band transponders. The high-powered 1300-model spacecraft's C-band covers Asia, Australia, New Zealand, the Pacific islands and Hawaii. The Ku-band reaches Mainland China, India, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Korea. The satellite will host cable programming, direct-to-home broadcasting, Internet and VSAT services within Asia while providing an inter-connect to the United States.
APSTAR V was launched by Sea Launch Limited Partnership in June 2004 at geostationary orbital slot 138 degrees East as a replacement satellite of APSTAR I and is estimated to have a mission life of over 13 years.
