EMX - SHDSL Pair Gain
Baseband technology. Symmetrical data transfer, up to 2304 kbps. Modulation is PAM-16 with Trellis coding for better noise and interference immunity. Operating with coded 32 levels and transmitting 4 bits within symbol. Bandwidth is roughly one sixth the transmitted bit rate. Output power is 13.5 - 14.5 dBm or 22 - 28 mW into 135 ohm line load. It was designed to be spectrally compatible with ADSL/ADSL2/ADSL2+ standard.
Used in new POTS and data multiplexer line of products EMX, data modems (PTS) and repeaters (RPS).
EMX is an advanced, state-of-the-art, combined POTS & Ethernet-LAN pair-gain system for accessing the local loop, based on newest SHDSL technology of transmission.
The EMX system is used in subscriber telephone networks to connect up to sixteen telephone subscribers (POTS) over only one copper pair. The EMX system is in fact able to deliver POTS service while at the same time transmitting data and Ethernet-LAN connections over the same line. A totally new approach has been developed to bring Ethernet-LAN connections along with the POTS service directly to residents home at a very economic price and in a very simple way. The EMX system, in three different configurations, provides telcos and ISPs a wide range of solutions for creating new POTS and midband/broadband datacomm connections over the existing copper infrastructure. EMX also creates opportunities for new services which may dramatically increase the telcos and ISPs competitiveness in the market and raise profits.
