Premier - A new comer in optical industry over one hundred years

Established in 1983, Premier has become a exportation-based enterprise (95% of products are exported), which has cooperated with many major brands in the world. Premier is now the leading compact camera manufacture in the world with approximately 14% of global market share. Premier, which was authorized ISO9001 and ISO9002 certification, has garnered the Symbol of Excellence Award several times and has been well known in OEM/ODM market. The business partners of Premier is spread worldwide, most of them are prominent optical gurus with long history. According to the data announced by Japan Photographing Industry Association in 1997, Premier's sales volume is the number one in the world in term of 35mm compact camera.
In 1998, following the trend of hi-tech, Premier also started the manufacture and development of digital camera. It is definitely a outstanding progress in optical domain.

Breakthrough accompanied with stable growth
In the past years, Premier is not the only active participant in manufacturing 35 mm compact cameras, but also in APS and digital cameras. In the whole sales of 1999, 69% is 35 mm cameras , 20% is APS cameras, digital cameras share 8% and for the others is 3%. In term of business type, it is divided into Premier brand and OEM/ODM. In 1999 Premier brand reach around 22% in whole sales volume, and OEM/ODM share 78%.
In the coming future, Premier plans to develop following new products: mini fixed focus 35 mm camera, mini auto focus 35 mm camera and mini auto focus 4.5 x zoom 35 mm camera. Concerning APS camera, Premier is going to develop mini fixed focus, mini auto focus and mini auto focus 3x zoom camera. Besides, regarding the digital cameras Premier will work on 2 mega-pixels, 2.3 mega-pixels with 2.3x or 3x optical zoom and 3.3 mega-pixels with 4x optical zoom. And in order to develop the optical products from a wide angle, Premier will manufacture high-end binocular, high-end zoom lens and precise optical molds. It is believed that in the coming years, Premier's produce exportation will still be emphasized in Europe, but the sales ratio is expected to increase in Asian countries, India, and Russia as well. | |
