Starting out as a distributor to companies with product development and manufacturing capabilities, Unictron set up its first production line of surge protector in 1992 and was the first producer of Spark Gap in Taiwan. Today, electronic components and modules under mass production within the FCD of Unictron include: GPS/SDAR (global positioning system and satellite digital audio radio) antennas, Bluetooth antennas, dielectric resonators, piezoelectric ceramic transformers/inverters, piezoelectric transducers for touch panel displays, and circuit protectors. In order to provide customers with low cost components and to satisfy the increasing demand for customer service in China, mass production facilities were established in Hangzhou, China in 2005.
One of the major milestones of Functional Ceramics Division is the establishment of an operation site in Hsinchu in year 2000. Our product developing team formed from the amalgamation of aged technology teams from Materials Research Laboratories (MRL) of Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) and the microwave industry. With the strong hold of material formulations and processing know-hows, we can deliver customers low-cost high-performance products. In addition to this, our design team assures that our productsâ€.electric characteristics can be tailored to meet customer circuit requirements.
In addition to in-house development activities, joint research projects with MRL of ITRI have served to reinforce the strength of our product development team as well as to catalyze our product development processes. We have managed to obtain research grants, such as SBIR Initiative Fund and Emerging Product Development Fund, from the Ministry of Economical Affairs whom have approved of our product development capabilities. Today, Unictron is the only company in Taiwan that has the capability to mass-produce Dielectric resonators (DR) for Low Noise Block (LNB), an important component of satellite receivers. | |
